About

Renée Coetzee

Pediatric Kinesiologist

I am passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning, movement, and development. Many children who struggle with focus, coordination, emotional regulation, or academic skills are working much harder than they should. My goal is to help identify underlying developmental factors and support children in building a stronger neurological foundation for learning and everyday life.

At Neurokinetix, I work with children using primitive reflex integration and movement-based developmental exercises that support the maturation of the nervous system. When foundational developmental stages are supported, children often experience improvements in focus, coordination, emotional regulation, and confidence.

My Journey Into Pediatric Movement and Brain Development

My passion for working with children began with a deep interest in how movement influences brain development and learning.

Early in my studies, I became fascinated by the connection between movement, neurological development, and academic success. I saw how foundational motor patterns influence not only physical abilities but also attention, behaviour, and learning.

This curiosity led me to pursue formal education in human movement science and specialized training in children’s movement development.

In 2005, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Human Movement Science at the University of the Free State in South Africa. In 2006, I completed my Honours degree in Kinderkinetics at North-West University, focusing specifically on movement development in children.

Kinderkinetics is a field dedicated to supporting children’s development through movement and motor skill development, particularly during the early years when the brain is rapidly forming neurological connections.

Professional Credentials

I am a registered kinesiologist with the Alberta Kinesiology Association, working as a pediatric movement specialist.

Over the years, I have continued to deepen my knowledge through additional courses and professional learning focused on:

  • Primitive reflex integration
  • Developmental movement programs
  • Movement and learning connections
  • Neurological foundations of behaviour and coordination

This ongoing learning allows me to support children experiencing challenges such as:

  • Learning difficulties
  • ADHD and attention challenges
  • Coordination and motor skill delays
  • Sensory processing difficulties
  • Emotional regulation challenges

Supporting Children Through Primitive Reflex Integration

At Neurokinetix, my work focuses on helping children strengthen the foundational brain-body connections that support learning and development.

Through targeted developmental movements and primitive reflex integration exercises, the nervous system can become more organized and mature. When these foundational patterns develop more fully, children often experience greater ease with:

  • Focus and attention
  • Balance and coordination
  • Fine motor skills such as handwriting
  • Emotional regulation
  • Confidence and self-esteem

Helping Families in Calgary and Beyond

Through Neurokinetix, I support families seeking help for children experiencing developmental challenges such as learning difficulties, coordination challenges, or attention concerns.

Parents searching for primitive reflex integration, developmental movement programs, or pediatric kinesiology support are often looking for answers to why their child may be struggling despite their best efforts.

My goal is to provide a supportive environment where we can explore how movement and brain development may help your child build a stronger foundation for learning and everyday life.

A Whole-Child Approach

Every child is unique. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I believe in supporting the underlying developmental foundations that influence learning, behaviour, and movement.

By addressing these foundational patterns, children often gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
